NIC Profiles ("the app") is developed by Sightline Technologies, LLC ("we," "us," "our"). The
app does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. It has no network communication of
its own, no telemetry, no analytics, and no advertising.
Data the app stores
The app lets you save named IP configuration profiles — a name you choose, plus IP address,
subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server values. These profiles are stored only in a local file on
your own device, at %AppData%\NICProfiles\profiles.json. This file never leaves
your device. It is not uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere by the app.
Network and system access
The app reads network adapter information and applies configuration changes using only local
Windows operating system facilities: System.Net.NetworkInformation for adapter
status and current configuration, Get-NetAdapterBinding /
Enable-NetAdapterBinding / Disable-NetAdapterBinding for protocol
bindings, and netsh interface ipv4 for applying IP address and DNS changes.
Operations that require administrator rights are performed by a small companion process
(NICProfiles.Helper.exe) that the app launches on your device with your consent,
via a standard Windows UAC prompt. This helper does not communicate over the network — it
only exchanges data with the main app through temporary local files.
The app does not make any outbound network requests, does not contact any server operated by
Sightline Technologies, LLC or any third party, and does not include any third-party SDKs,
advertising libraries, or crash/analytics reporting.
Data sharing
We do not share, sell, or transmit any data to third parties, because the app does not collect
or transmit any data in the first place.
Data retention and deletion
Your profiles remain on your device until you delete them yourself — see
Delete Your Data for how.
Children's privacy
NIC Profiles is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from
anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a revised
"Last updated" date.
